Process

To be admitted into the BSc. in Sustainable Mining programme, SSSCE candidates should have Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and Core Science/Integrated Science or Social Studies. For students with science background, any three (3) elective subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Elective Mathematics, Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry are required. For students from General Arts background, a candidate will be required to have any two of: a) Elective Mathematics, Geography, Economics, and any one from b) History and Government.

WASSCE candidates should have Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and Core Science/Integrated Science or Social Studies.

For students with science background, any three (3) elective subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Elective Mathematics, Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry are required. For students from General Arts background, a candidate will be required to have any two of: a) Elective Mathematics, Geography, Economics, and any one from b) History and Government.

1. To be admitted into the BSc Sustainable Land Management programme, SSSCE Candidates should have Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; plus, three (3) electives from General Arts, General Agriculture, Business and Science programmes.
2. WASSCE Candidates should have Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; plus, three (3) elective General Arts, General Agriculture, Business and Science programmes.
3. GBCE Candidates should have credit passes (A-D) in six subjects, comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics, plus three relevant elective subjects
4. GCE Advanced Level Candidates should have Passes three subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better). Also, the applicant must has had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject (for science students).
5. Higher National Diploma Candidates should have at least 2^nd class lower division. In addition, the applicant must have acquired a 2-year post HND working experience. First class HND holders from related background with relevant working experience could be admitted into level 200 of the programme.

To be eligible for admission into the MSc Sustianable Mining programme, the candidate must be a graduate of this University or any other University recognised by Academic Board and shall normally have obtained a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) Bachelors degree in the relevant field (eg. Sustainable Mining, Climate Change and Sustainable Development, Geography, Geophysics, Planning, Geology, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources, Land Economy, etc.). Postgraduate diploma certificate holders with excellent classification may be admitted. The Department may require further selection by examination and/or interview.

To be eligible for admission into the MSc in Land Degradation Neutrality programme, the prospective candidate must be a graduate of this University or any other recognised accredited institution. The prospective applicant must have a minimum of Third degree in the relevant field (eg. Land management, geomatic engineering, geoinformation science, natural resource managment, environmental science/management, planning, environmental studies, geography, environmental engineering, environmental resources management etc).

All applicants for the MSc Land Degradation Neutrality will go through a selection interview. Only applicants who are successful in the selection interview will be admitted into the programme. In addition, the number of successful candidates to be admitted will be based on the number of vacancies available in that particular academic year.

The prospective applicant must have a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) degree in the relevant field (eg. To be eligible for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy degree programme in Sustainable Land Management, a prospective candidate must have obtained a Master's degree from this University or its equivalent from any other University recognised by Academic Board. Exceptional Second year M.Phil/MSc students may be upgraded into the PhD programme upon recommendation from the Department and School Boards.

The Department will shortlist some of the applicants for interview based on their qualifications and area of study. All shortlisted applicants will go through an interview organised by the Department. Only candidates who are successful in the interview that will be offered admission.
